Blog Post #9


After reviewing The Relentless, Tattooed, Skateboarding Principal’s Bucket List (pages 209-213), share one page of your bucket list with all of us. Just like he did, include a few things you’ve already accomplished (crossed-out) and a few things you still want to accomplish.

  3. My Bucket List:
    1. Be a Pet Therapy Team with my dog Vegas. We visit hospice, pediatric units, hospitals, children's hospitals, schools and facilities that need furry hugs!
    2. Treat my entire family (kids and grandkids) to a week-long beach vacation. (in the works)
    3. Write a book. (Future plans!)
    4. Take my father's ashes to Australia. (He always wanted to go, but passed away before he made the trip.)
    5. Go on a mission trip and teach English.
    6. Sleep 8 hours straight!
    7. Break 40 golfing!
    8. Develop a successful business that would employ several family members.

  9. I love this blog. It's so much fun to see bucket lists and what people have accomplished. Mine isn't complete, but so far this is what I have come up.

    Visit every National Park
    See Mt. Everest
    Work for the National Park Service (DONE)
    Travel to Ireland, England and Scotland (DONE)
    Relearn to play the piano
    Take a professional photography workshop (DONE)
    Take my grandkids on a train trip across the Rockies in Canada
    Own a cabin in the Black Hills
    Travel to New Zealand (DONE)
    Take my husband to Alaska
    Meet my best FACEBOOK friend in person
    Become a dog sitter when I retire
    Actually retire (I tried it for a month and went back to teaching)

    Get my masters degree. (Done)

    Be a stay at home mom while my kids are babies. (Done with my youngest two. While I enjoyed the time, it was not for me.)
    Advocate for special education students.
    Go to a baseball game at every stadium with my oldest son. (In progress)
    Taxi a B1 bomber (Done.)
    Travel back to Alaska with all of my kids.
    Take my dad to the NFR and a Vikings game in Minnesota (Cross off some of his bucket list)
    Get my pink back. - If you haven't seen this one, mommy flamingos lose their pink when they have and are caring for their babies. They slowly get their pink back. (In progress now that my youngest is 3. Finding myself and my passions again.)

    His bucket list is way more fun then mine-I love that. I need to rethink things to be more exciting!
    1. Get my masters degree (done)
    2. Buy a car on my own (done)
    3. Buy a home (done)
    4. Find new places to go kayaking (in progress)
    5. Make time each summer to kayak the St. Croix (in progress)
    6. Hike at all of the state parks in MN (In Progress).
    7. Rent a home on the ocean and write a book (sitting in the upstairs with the doors open to the outside so I can hear the ocean._
    8. Travel to Finland
    9. Teach in Finland
    10. Do a cold plunge, hot sauna in Finland
    11. See the Northern Lights in Finland
    12. Buy a dog-name him George
    13. Travel through Europe
    14. Go on an Alaskan Cruise
    15. Dance to live music as much as I can
    16. Have grandchildren (this is dependent on my children)

  34. 1) Travel anywhere/ anyway see it all- I've already began this and have visited at least one new area every year for the past 10 years.
    2) Create an afterschool club- I've got a name Club Cre8. I have written a grant and received $1000 toward running it!
    3) Be a better golfer- Working on my golf game on the weekends.
    4) Be organized!- work on small areas and organize those and eventually have everything organized and have a space.

    Visit all 50 states (31/50)
    Graduate Undergrad degree X
    Get married X
    Teach in a classroom X
    Be a school librarian X
    Have 2 or 3 kids (God laughed and blessed us with 2 daughters and 3 sons)
    Raise our children in a Christian home X
    Continue dating my husband X
    Graduate with a masters degree X
    Visit Canada X
    Visit United Kingdom (only England 3 years ago, need to go to the other parts soon)
    Go on a Cruise ship Vacation X (went to Norway for 10 days)
    Be a school librarian X
    Teach Social Studies X Middle School
    Travel to most of the European Countries
    Become debt free (only have house)
    College degree for 4/5 children (not all graduated, one at SDSU, education major, playing football D1 - his dream
    Support/watch our family members in their activities (not done yet)
    Buy a motorhome & travel
    Go on a cruise with 2 of my friends
